new Rolls Royce armoured car from BPM

Post by CarlL » 25 Nov 2019, 09:15

Well Butler's (see https://www.butlersprintedmodels.co.uk/ ) have fairly widely advertised this latest addition to their range, see for example, https://www.thewargameswebsite.com/roll ... oured-car/ or http://theminiaturespage.com/news/?id=1739218061, from where the photo below was borrowed:

As the ad at TWW notes:

"5 different variants are available:
1914 - The WW1 armoured car
1920 Mk 1
1920 Mk 1A - Same as the Mk 1 but with a commanders cupola
1924 - New body and turret shape
1940 - WW2 version, 1924 design with an open topped turret

[in 5 different scales at following prices]
6mm is £0.70
12mm is £2.00
15mm is £3.00
20mm is £5.60
28mm is £12.00"

It is already a popular vehicle to model in 20mm scale, so it will be ingteresting to see if this addition will lead to other less well known early 20th century armoured cars being modelled, like the French "Automitrailleuse Peugeot" ?

The 1924 version is rare from other manufacturers (I think Milicast do one though) so is particularly useful for Interwar

I wouldn't mind seeing an RAF Fordson version either.

Thanks. I had quite forgotten about Reviresco, even though I already have a pair of their 1940 version Rolls.
