Recycleing - Scenarios

Post by UshCha » 07 Oct 2019, 07:23

This weeks simple game was an attack by Parras on a radio Relay station. The map was idendile no need to change and it was was a quick conversion of the forces from SGII to Maneouvre Group and play. I noted this was written in 2002. Interestingly one of the original play testers for Maneouvre Group (MG) was playing this (MG's been out for 10 years and is under review for issue 2) and had not played it before. Its been played a few times since it was written, I think proably 9 to10 years ago when MG was in its early years.

So how old is your oldest scenario and do you recycle them on new players or even old players?

Twin Farms from the original "Battle" book by Charles Grant from the late 1960s, I first discovered it in about 1976 - I run it at least 10 times over the years :D

My version has been published twice in Miniature Wargames magazine and three times within The Journal :D

Twin Farms is a good scenario and easily adapted to whatever theatre you like. It is the only game in the book where C S Grant beats Charles senior, assuming from the way it is written that Charles senior played Red!

Cheers Fred.
