WW1 Tank Models from China on e-Bay

Post by Blockhead123 » 03 Sep 2019, 20:34

I just wondered if anyone else on the forum had seen these (in my opinion) rather nice 1:100 model WW1 tanks available from China on e-Bay?
In style, they are rather like the 'Fabbri' 1:72 scale models that many of us picked up at silly prices from 'The Works' a while back
They mostly seem to be around the £8 - £9 mark - so more than Zveda plastics - but do come post free. There are also (fairly small) discounts available if you buy more than one. Some are bundled as pairs and come out at about £13 - £15 per pair
I picked up a couple of (early model) St Chamonds to try,

but the ones I have seen include:
  • Male and Female British Mark IV
    Medium Mark A Whippet
    Schneider
    Later model St Chamond
    A7V
Some have markings (A7Vs and Mark IVs), but others are plain green
Thought they might be of potential interest to members of the Forum
Also, the same Chinese sellers have what look to be similar diecast 1:100 Leopard 2 A4s at about £3-50 each post free, which could appeal to the more modern wargamers

I think so - when I have time I will paint the tracks and add some shading and highlighting, plus markings - I'll post some better pictures when I have done that

Interesting, the seller id is worldofwar2017
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/worldofwar20 ... 7675.l2562
What's the point of doing one period, when you can do them all.......... In life most people specialise so gradually they know more and more about less and less so eventually they know everything about nothing. I work on a broad front so eventually I'll know nothing about everything.

I found at least three or four sellers, all Chinese. I didn’t spot that particular one

Just to update what I posted, I measured the models I bought today and checked the scale. They are actually ‘true’ 15mm, i.e. 1:122 scale
