the escape club held one of their big 20mm games last weekend.
a 24x6ft cold war mediteranean scenario
the russian VDV has landed on an island and the USMC with Royla Marines support has to land and take it back.

the larger beachhead attack moves forward

royal marines attack the village

the russian marines force counter attacks

and the long awaited russian air strikes come

but the marines attack reaches the other village by the castle

sadly the larger beach assualt ended up like anzio, bogged down whilst the smaller beach attack moved inland quicker.
the royal marines would have held onto the 2 villages they assaulted but would ahve needed to be reenforced soon
it ended up as a draw in the end as the russians could not counter attack in enough strength.

Impressive. I seem to remember a similar castle in Andravia a couple of years back. Destroyed it with 120 HESH. But then I do blow things up !

Nice, don't think I've ever seen LCACs on the table before!

Is that mostly the work of one mad genius or does the club collaborate to get it all done? What rules do you use?

Lovely terrain and models.
I see even a BIG table doesnt escape the track to track massed tanks! Looks enjoyable game all the same.
Its a long time since I had time / energy to attend such a day or weekend. Hopefully retirement will give me the time and less competition for my energy?!

hi
thanks for the comments
i built a lot of the terrain as well as all the ships.
we do collaborate on a lot of things though as a club
the rules are a club set based on lots of different ideas ect
each game brings new idead and thoughts

i did consider making the lcac's in 1/72 but it would be heavy and expensive.
we do have a landing craft of oour own in 1/72 a very late ww2 lcm7 a gb model bigger than the airfix lcm3 type.
the lcm's in the pics are the old matchbox car ferry's
thanks for the comments
