As part of the green revolution and to reduce the cabon footprint the German Army has modified some Leopard A2 by fitting clockwork engines

I'm not one to disagree with m'learned friend generally but I believe that this was, in fact, a short lived attempt to alleviate the problem of squaddies from the BAOR pickpocketing German tank drivers of their ignition keys as bit of a laugh after a little too much relaxation in the NAAFI.

I may be wrong...
