Ha! I knew it.
They're not blueprints.
It's funny how that word persists...
I can't tell from the small pics on that link, but it'd be interesting to know whether they're metric or Imperial.
Very nice find.

Very nice find.

If they are 'real' technical drawings done at the time, surely they would be in Imperial measurements???

Why do you think they might be metric?

Re: Mosquito aircraft blueprints found

I was (long ago - early 70s) once shown a full set of Bristol Aeroplane Co. drawings (direct prints from the originals) for a WWI fighter (Brisfit possibly) that some enthusiasts had been given (because they were planning on making one to fly at airshows).
Despite them being from our (nominally) "pre-metric" era (dating from around 1916-17) they were metric.

As long as they aren't 'Nasa' style with metric and Imperial mixed.......

Re: Mosquito aircraft blueprints found

Where was Len hiding them? (local joke for Pete)

What's the point of doing one period, when you can do them all..........  In life most people specialise so gradually they know more and more about less and less so eventually they know everything about nothing.  I work on a broad front so eventually I'll know nothing about everything.

He's probably been trying to sort studs for them Will. Either that or Terry was trying to get them for free (another local joke).

Suspect that might be an isolated case. From a quick Google it seems Bristol Aeroplane were known to produce some material in metric.

Even today aviation is probably the only high-tech industry where you still routinely encounter things built to imperial measurements, due to the fact that it's dominated by American companies.
