British Military Police active service uniform?

Would MP's have worn the red hat, white anklets, belt and webbing on active service or would it have been toned down a bit? If the red cap was worn I assume it would still have been de rigeur to have the peak pushed down so far that you couldn't see where you were going! :-)

British Ww2

Black or maybe dark blue armband (right upper) with red MP on a blue square (assuming black band)

Peaked cap with red band
OR
Helmet with red band and red MP on blue square in front

White gaiters and gauntlets only when in rear areas; though I suspect white gauntlets may well have been used when on traffic duties even near to the front.

Re: British Military Police active service uniform?

Thanks Richard. I am looking to do some MP's for my Eagle has Landed project and thinking of doing them a bit more combat orientated so they would do double duty, but on the other hand the dress uniform would be something a bit different to put on the table top.
