Klug

Post by Phil_Gray_260 » 10 Nov 2019, 08:25

This unwelcome news came across my Facebook feed last night.

I recall Klug as a long-time SoTCW member, a contributor to the Journal and as someone who would stop by for a chat at the end of each Partizan show where we ran a game.

So sad :(

I`d known him for yrs - but we never actually met :(

We communicated first be letter, later emails during my time as editor of the SOTCW Journal. We swapped photos of our models, chatted about all sorts of odd stuff - a lovely guy :)

When i finally quit as editor, he sent me a copy "By Tank" by Ken Tout with a personal note scribbled inside the cover thanking me for my time and efforts - i was really touched :)

I have known Klug since I moved to Newark in the mid 80’s, a sad loss indeed of a fellow gamer of many a cool game, and a trusted and valued bring and buyer. RIP.

Thanks Richard for the link.

Its a lovely, description (I assume by a friend of a friend within Newark Irregulars).

Showing my ignorance: what is the game described as MIA?

Its good to remember our lost friends, and for strangers like me to hear how another person remembers their friend. Its a touching part of humanity in our troubled times.

MIA was the name of Klug’s home brewed rules, “Missing in Action” which we used in his games.
