Oh and I do hope to put the event on again next year - almost certainly the last Sunday in September again

All sounds good indeed David.
CarlL dusting down his horse and cart and thinking of a charabang to the event! Could even collect Grant on our way north! But we won't be sharing a white van!
Any tips on accommodation in that neck of the woods? (not quite glen country, Iwould surmise!?) - Grant can bring his tent and me and Maggy could go b&b?

It would be great to have you at the event Carl. Ask me again on accommodation nearer the time and I will do some digging for you, although I wouldsay that there are several Travelodge/premier inns in the Falkirk area which are usually good value if you book a couple of months in advance

For anyone thinking of making the trip North this part of he world has a lot to offer if you want to make a holiday of it. Locally we have Stirling Castle The Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies to name but a few and both Edinburgh and Glasgow are within half an hour by train for further cultural and retail experiences.
If you do stay I can also extend our hospitality to the club night on the follow Monday for yet more wargaming goodness

That's good to hear Dave ,its ridiculous that there is no shows in Glasgow, there are more than a few healthy clubs here (figuratively speaking),cheers JohnDave Knight wrote: ↑03 Oct 2018, 21:12 Wargaming in Scotland is in good fettle. The show that my club at Falkirk puts on, Carronade, gets over 700 through the dorr and by the time you add in those putting on games, club members traders etc numbers push well over 900. Claymore is a similar size. Our clubs meets on a Monday night and we had 40 turn up last week playing 14 games. The Bolt action WW1 game from Sunday was rerun and I got a chance to play it. There is a real mix of historical and non historical gaming with the occasional board game and RPG.
I understand that there will be a show in Glasgow next year - the date I have heard is 29th June - hopefully there will be more details out soon
