For all new registrations - say hello

We have been inundated with spoof applications to join this forum. Therefore, to prove you are not a spammer or spambot you must post one comment in this forum to prove you are not a spammer e.g. tell us something about the SOTCW or what you like about wargames in general so the Moderators can see you are here for the right reasons.

Re: For all new registrations - say hello

I can't remember if I said Hi or not when I registered so.......Hi everyone.

I know some members from contact through other forums and 'in the flesh' through our annual Rapid Fire get together.
My 20th Century gaming interest mostly lies in the North African campaigns of WW2 all though I'm developing more of an interest in the rest of the Second World War.
I game 20th Century exclusively in 20mm and mostly with Rapid Fire rules.

Again Hi to everyone.

Tim..

Edit: Having seen that my post count is now 1 I can only surmise that I didn't say hello previously - sorry.

Re: For all new registrations - say hello

I had some posts while the forum was still getting set up, but seem to have lost them in the initial shuffle.  No worries, but sttill, human, not potential spammer.  I'm a member of the Ambush Alley Games team and I also work for GlobalSecurity.org.  I'm more of a researcher than a gamer at this point, but I largely lurk in a lot of places in case I can help out.

Like Thomas, I am a terrible lurker as I don't get to visit this forum often but I'm not a spammer.

My interest is primarily World War II and I'm involved with the Command Decision group.

All the best,
Marc

Re: For all new registrations - say hello

Hello.  I am not a robot.  Just returned from Historicon, man what a show!  Lately I've been working on Spanish-American War (Tiger Minis), Rhodesia/South Africa (Eureka & TAG) both in 25mm.  I'd like to get back to the modern TAG Russians I bought a couple years ago too, but the lead pile has no mercy!

I even considered sending in a battle report to the mag of the Operation Barrass game we put on, but somebody beat me to it with their own AAR! If you'd like to see the action, go to the blog "My Little World of Dementia".

So now its back to lurking.....

Re: For all new registrations - say hello

COMPLAINT - FOR ATTENTION OF SOTCW COMMITTEE PLEASE

I jointed SOTCW four months ago and paid for the magazine for 2011/2012 and 2012 / 2013 to be sent by airmail.

To date I have not received an issue.

Correspondence from Mr Mark Wheeler has been poor. It took from April 6 to May 26 to even acknowledge the receipt of my subscription.

Since then I've sent two email enquiring about the status of my subscription, both have gone unanswered.

I would appreciate it if someone at SOTCW can rectify this issue.

Regards

Re: For all new registrations - say hello

Sorry you've been hit by spam.

I run my own forum and manually approve all new members. While this might sound like a pain, it stops outbreaks of mass spam and it's easy to run new members emails throu Google, which often returns almos immediately if they are known spam addresses. I put a publicly visible post on my forum explaining this and because I work overseas a lot it may take up to 14 days for a registration to be approved. No one who is serious about being a member ever objects.

Re: For all new registrations - say hello

Good grief- I thought something horrible had happened to the Forum when I opened it up this morning and clicked on 'new posts'.......never seen so many! Greetings to the 'happy lurkers' who emerged (briefly) from the electronic murk and shadows!
