Wales Airshow 2017, Swansea

Unfortunately our running a guesthouse means this busy now annual event stops me travelling to Gauntlet or Bovington sad

Business and family always send hobby stuff into the back seat.

Lovely weather this year and the beach was packed, good for the town, we were busy on Friday and Saturday too.

Spend both days on the beach with Debbie and our Alex watching the various flight displays, didn`t get a chance to walk around the ground display area to see the various vehicles and stuff, but it was nice to just be a couple (plus Alex) doing family stuff for a change.

Aside from the usual civilian display teams, stunt pilots and air-sea rescue shows there was of course some military interest -

Eurofighter Typhoon

Bristol Blenheim Mk1
Never seen one fly before and it turns out this is the only one still flying!

Richard, you look younger than I imagined lol

Thanks for the Blenheim pics...it's one of those iconic British aircraft that gets much maligned and over looked. Nice to see at least one still flying.

Great aerial shots Richard.
(Certainly compared to my humble -"Is it a bird or a spec of dust on my lens" attempts at grabbing a shot of the Hurricane buzzing Whitby harbour on armed forces weekend. Mind, my little camera is only a digital instamatic!)

So the real question Granty failed to ask is that Swansea beach in the sun or a Spanish lookalike beach? (Beach I said Granty not woman.....) You know what he is like that Granty..... smile

I don't know where you get such ideas about me from Carl!!!  I am shocked!!!

Richard

Lovely link to your guest house and to the many attractions of the seaside at Swansea. Great use of your camera to illustrate it all.

I must get across to the south west and pay Swansea a visit one long weekend when local wargames event concurs.

When we lived on Merseyside, we often got to north Wales, and to Hay-on-Wye on the borders, and on a couple of ocassions we got to south Wales; once to lovely holiday on Gower peninsula when our children were in primary school (2 eldest now in their 30s!) and on another time we toured the Roman remains at Caerwent / Venta Silurum and Caerleon / Near Newport on River Usk.!! (My ancient history interests!)

As you said you are kept busy but Swansea has some perks from your photos.  Enjoy.
