Looking for a game in NW England 24th June

I am having a bit of a wargaming road trip the weekend 24th – 25th June.  On Saturday 24th I am attending the Phoenix show at the Rheged centre in Cumbria and on Sunday 25th taking part in a SAGA competition in Matlock.

The show finishes at 15:00 and I have no need to rush to my hotel in Matlock that night so I was wondering if there were any wargamers en route who might fancy a game that late arternoon/evening?  I am willing to play pretty much anything.

A bit of a long shot perhaps but - you never know!

No way ,I think its fair to say ,with respect CarlL is most definitely a one off.  Dave is an entirely different animal altogether , lets just say he likes to swim in uncharted waters.  smile   John

Re: Looking for a game in NW England 24th June

I dont like water either, and it gets cold in the buff.
Give me beer and the life of a landlubber

But Mr Knght might be on to something? Could I become a migrant wargamer in my pension years, wandering from club to club, and show to show? (Need a big caravan / wagon for my toys?) Could be bit like those daring footy fans who used to try and take in a game at all the clubs in the (top four) English divisions?

I could be more imaginative and do a World Series (like our friendly Yanks) and commit to the four nations of the British Isles, taking in games and shows Irish, Welsh, Scottish and English?

Of course there could be a glitch... none of my direct male descendents made it to pension age in the 20th century, so my ambitions may be too high? But lets dream on...... (And watch it Granty I could be arriving at a show near you soon!?) wink
