Thanks, guys!

Carl (and Bill), the boss is now happy as a clam organizing and decorating "her" new room, which makes me happy too.

Richard, I look forward to seeing what you do with the fire engine. I recall quite a bit of discussion and photos about German fire engines at Arnhem among the Rapid Fire group last year, with a couple of interesting model interpretations.

Bill, the "leaf springs" are just a thin strip of aluminum bent into shape with a couple of thin slices of 3/64" and 1/16" Evergreen plastic rod glued onto the end. Quick and easy to duplicate once I got the proper size and shape figured out.

David
You make it sound so easy with those leaf springs. seeing and keeping hold of something so small with tweezers and a magnifying lens is quite something! I know from how many fiddly parts I drop on floor and never find again!!

Wonderful, absolutely wonderful.
Did not know the IHC die casts would prove so versatile.

Thanks everyone. I didn't know at first either, Bill. When I saw your neat DAK adaptations, my first thought was that the IHC models would make a passable Fiat 15-ter for early war Italians. That in turn led to the Soviet license-built version. As for the Romanians, well, it just seemed like a rickety looking old-fashioned van would make a perfect command/staff vehicle for them.

So did you handpaint round those red cross decals or did you cleverly cover with a round 'sticky plaster' (or similar) to spray paint that (?) olive green!!?
I shall look forward to end result.
I have to say its very inspiring to see what you, David, (and Bilk) get up to on your conversions of basic toys.
