PSC Gaz truck conversions

Post by Fire-at-Will »

A combination of PSC Gaz trucks and S&S office bodies provide this selection of command and/or radio trucks for my Soviet forces

They were quite easy to assemble as the S&S bodies just dropped into place on the chassis.

The bodies were fitted on both the Gaz-AA and Gaz-AAA chassis as it seems there was no difference in use especially given the extemporised conversions used.

Thanks to Shaun from S&S

I also repainted some Fabbri die-cast BA64s at the same time

What's the point of doing one period, when you can do them all.......... In life most people specialise so gradually they know more and more about less and less so eventually they know everything about nothing. I work on a broad front so eventually I'll know nothing about everything.

Great to see your work Will, it will no doubt inspire the rest of us to do similar. Looks like a neat work by S&S to make a very smooth 'conversion'.

Just one cheeky question, if that "fleet" of trucks is your command 'section' then how big is your Russian army and are you doing it in 1:1 scale?!!

CarlL cheekily......

Will,

This info only leads me to ask more cheeky questions, and possibly a rude one too, JUST HOW BIG is your WARGAMES TABLE !!??

CarlL

PS

I did once launch THREE wave attacks each of a division of infantry across a 8x6 wargames table (OK that's moderate to small) using BKC1, and at a much reduced figure scale of one base equalled one company of rifles or one platoon of supports.
I only had enough bases for one wave, but as each wave got mowed down by the Italian, German and Rumanian defenders, we just recycled the attackers. After the third wave got massacred, I realised the futility of wave attacks against defenders who are dug in with better artillery support.
And I marvelled at how the Russians held on to, or regained any of western Russia, before they established a strategic logistical stranglehold on the Wehrmacht and their allies.
