Transport? General Silvestre?

Post by CarlL » Mon Jun 04, 2018 7:46 pm

Well overdosed you all are on Rif by now!

But this big car 'conversion' (its probably twice as big as it should be for 20mm scale!) could be General Silvestre on his way to his death at Battle of Annual. OK he cant be, as the Legion driver and escort had not been recruited and deployed to Morrocco before the battle of Annual.

And here is some mule transport to carry his ammo and water supply. (A mix of Airfix conversions and metals. the Tumbling Diuce pack camels with packs are very good, and lots of baggage, but I kept mixing and matching so I cant show you one that is the true original!)
And for my next project some camel transport for use in 1920s Somalia or 1920s Iraq.

Carl, Roden make a Vauxhall D Type car for the 1914-18 War period. I know it's a plastic kit, but might be more in keeping to scale size for your figures?

I love packed transport, I must have nearly 20 mules scattered among my various "armies" :D

Those camels are nice, I have some TD Camel corps pretending to be French Saharienne, they could do with a pack train :?:

The car is just supper, i have something similar (and just as over-sized) for my Mexican General

Gary,
from my spares box!
The driver is an old Raventhorpe headless figure with one of their fore and aft cap heads.
The rifle carrying escort came off an EWM set, cr or motorbike set. But I canr recall which one!
The White uniform figure in cap is an Irregular Mins, WW1 Austrian from their arty or limbers.
The general was a milkman seated on an Oxford diecast horse and cart milk float!
