Wanted - a couple of bombers

Post by dadlamassu » Mon Apr 01, 2019 5:16 pm

My darling SWMBO is a bit of a drama queen and is performing in a musical called "Blitz". https://stageagent.com/shows/musical/2461/blitz
As part of the publicity etc I have been volunteered to put out a display of my models representing, oddly enough, the Battle of Britain. I have the following either built and ready or started (mostly Airfix) that will be displayed in glass cases. Also I have only 3 months of rehearsal time to get this lot ready!
RAF Emergency Set
RAF Personnel
Luftwaffe Personnel
Spitfire Mk1
Hurricane Mk1
Defiant (the one my father flew in)
Gladiator
Bf109E
Ju88
The old Bf 110D
The old Ju87B
Lledo auxiliary fire engine
LLedo Battle of Britain commemoration set

So looking for
Heinkel He111 H (early versions H1 to H4 though an H6 would do)
Dornier Do17Z

Anyone got either of these bombers in their stash for disposal - happy to pay or trade? Just don't want to spend a fortune on this project.

It would be nice to include a Beaufighter MkII with Merlin engines as my father flew in one of those as they were introduced.

Richard, thanks for the offer. I have two of the old Airfix Stukas and was not thinking of the Lysander as a Battle of Britain type. That said if the Stuka is a B version

then I may take you up on it because my ones definitely show their age!

Now if you was Granty, dadlamassu Alan,

I would be thinking you need to dress the part too. (But Biggles style!) Flying hat, goggles, leather jacket and scarf (your dearest wifes of course)
And so forth......

As far as I am aware Airfix only did the very old Ju87B and later a Ju87R or B-2.

So yes that will do nicely. PM me to arrange a swop/payment

My ability at singing means I get to dress in black and shift the scenery about. :D

I have 2 of the 3 Defiants (old Airfix ones) that Dad flew in - one in day fighter camouflage (his pilot broke it before take off on the day the squadron as nearly wiped out), one in "night" (black). The third was a day fighter converted to light bomber during the invasion scare.
