We have only played 4 or 5 games so still getting used to the rules. I think we could handle 4 each in our next game, maybe more if some were bombers.

Cheers Fred.

So we tried the Thach Weave today. It worked ok. I did manage to shoot down one Wildcat that I caught trailing on the crossover, but promptly lost it when the other pair reversed. Most of the time best I could manage was high deflection beam attacks coming in from the sides, but they are tough shots to hit as you lose dice for the shot and with the Wilcat’s Robust Attribute they shrug off the damage. We also played a France 1941 scenario with 4 Spitfires escorting 2 Blenheim’s against 4 109’s intercepting. I lost this as I thought I would make a head on attack on the bombers using my great dive attribute to give extra speed, before the Spitfires could get on my tail. Hoping that with 2 109’s to each bomber I could shoot them down. Unfortunately poor dice rolling meant I only got a couple of hits. I had started my attack run too close to the table edge and all 4 109’s left the table on the next turn and to get back you have to pass a manoeuvre test, which I promptly failed with all 4 ending the game. So the heroes of the Luftwaffe came barrelling in, fired a couple of bursts at the bombers, then disappeared into the sunset! We played 2 games in less than 2 hours, so the games are still quick even with more planes, but we are getting used to the rules and turns are going much quicker now.

Cheers Fred.

P.S. Waiting for decals from Warlord as the stickers they give you in the box are poor.

Thanks for the update - I guess the Blenheim pilots would be very happy with that result.
