Battle for Moscow - film

Post by dadlamassu » 31 May 2018, 21:47

Tonight I was babysitting our two oldest grandchildren. They have Sky Movies and so I watched the film "Battle for Moscow" a Russian film (in Russian with fairly good subtitles in American English)

The action sequences were realistic and very well done, the uniforms and equipment were convincing (I am not an Eastern Front expert) and the German Pz III and Pz IV looked right. In the film soldiers actually reload their weapons, there is casualty evacuation and even an artillery observer adjusting fire.

Worth watching and the boys were cheering the Russians on as they used 45mm Anti-tank guns, anti-tank rifles and fire bombs against the Panzers.

At the end the shot fades to the War memorial on the site of the action.

Interesting film, tough ask for the battalion to hold the line............

The trenches were very well done too :ugeek:
