new Boer Pompom gun & Crew in plastic

Post by CarlL » 24 Jul 2019, 19:55

Over on Plastic Soldier Review website (link below) you will find these simple but useful models and gun crew from Strelets in Set 188, "Pom-Pom Gun with Boer Crew" where you get 20 crew (in 5 poses) and 4 guns per pack.

See http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/review.aspx?id=2535 for photos

A very useful addition for Boer War gamers / modellers (very early in our period I know) with crew in civvies mainly having possibilities for other periods / situations (from civil wars in Russia or Spain or post WW1 revolutions to VBCW gaming)? And the gun could be adapted to other uses. Possibly given different mounting for naval landing / gunboat support in colonial games?

If you just take the shield off of it it looks like the version used by the British as depicted by Strelets in set 189
What's the point of doing one period, when you can do them all.......... In life most people specialise so gradually they know more and more about less and less so eventually they know everything about nothing. I work on a broad front so eventually I'll know nothing about everything.
