Ruins? Ruins! my table to be covered in ruins....

Post by CarlL » 29 May 2019, 21:04

Well this is a new to me model maker in 20mm resin: Battlescale Wargame Buildings, see https://battlescale.com/t/20mm-buildings

who have two ruin sets. The more the merrier to add to those by S&S and other model makers. (They also do intact buildings in this scale that loook like solid cast resin pieces. But check that before paying.)

I borrowed two photos, one from their ad at https://www.thewargameswebsite.com/bran ... m-release/
Where it says:
"Cast in a high quality polyester resin and hand finished prior to dispatch, the model is ready to paint straight from the box!
Supplied in six separate pieces; the main facade, small rear corner section, damaged upper floor section and three rubble sections which can be arranged however suits!"

This is their Townhouse Ruin (2) at £15.95p a six part unpainted resin kit

and the second photo from their website, where it says:
"The model consists of two ruined wall sections, a small upper floor section and three rubble sections. Cast in high quality polyester resin. Can be arranged in various configurations to suit your layout! Additional rubble sections can be purchased from our 20mm Scenics section. Guaranteed perfect casts. No filling required, just prime and paint! The item is supplied unpainted."

This being their Stone House Ruin (1) at £11.95p a part unpainted resin kit.

There are more photos on their website.

John

I think I told you about my living and working in Glasgow back in the day I was a wee bit younger.

House prices in Whitby are dear.
Perhaps I can find something near you in Scotland where my sterling may go further?

Granty could always come north and do modelling classes at likes of Claymore with me and you John!? We could form the SSotcw branch.... Scottish (sub branch of) Society of Twentieth Century Wargamers...

Carl wee bit wicked

PS Grant we could think of a Scottish take on early 20th centruy history to do a demo game at Claymore with kilts for a Scottish regiment... anyone got any (non rude) suggestions for what historical action we could do? John could be the link man with the local lingo.....

Well Carl...I do have an idea for two Scottish based 'actions' ;) ...one is early 20th century, the other is late 20th century. These 'actions' are a couple I have running about in my head, and shall (hopefully) be writing up and sending off to Russ Philips sometime in the near future...so watch this space bonny lad. ;)
