HaT Set 8159 WWI French Artillery Crew (Early)

Post by CarlL »

There is a new review on Plastic Soldier Review of HaT Set 8159 WWI French Artillery Crew (Early)

You can find review & photos at http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/review.aspx?id=1429

There are 32 figures in eight poses: 4 poses are standing figures serving guns (2 holding a shell), 2 poses kneeling gunners serving guns (1 holding a shell), 1 pose seated for limber, 1 pose outrider (for horse limber) wearing cape. So four figures of each pose. The seated figure may be useful for motor vehicles, (but has his hands on his lap, so perhaps not a driver?). The caped figure may be useful as a horseman or mounted dispatch rider? One of the standing gunners might make a useful early war French infantry officer. The detail on the figures seems limited but has folds sculpted / moulded into uniforms so may lend itself to drybrushing technique for painting.

All are in early war kepi so may make suitable figures for other Kepi wearing early 20th century types like WW1 (early) Belgians and Spanish colonial in kepi. (Latter Kepi may need highering with lump of modelling putty?)
