PSR review of Strelets Set 281, Japanese Type 11 Gun

Post by CarlL »

Over on the PSR website you will find a review of Strelets Set 281, Japanese Type 11 Gun,
see http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/review.aspx?id=2816
Not a topic or period of WW2 history that I know much about. I guess they will be useful guns and crew.

Not a bad set, but kind of an odd choice of weapon, as the 37mm Type 11 (Taisho) infantry gun was not produced in particularly large numbers, and was pretty much relegated to second-line units in China by 1941, replaced by the much more numerous 70mm Type 92 battalion gun. The gun itself might be more useful for conversion to the similar French 37mm Mle.1916 TRP, with the Japanese gunners used to crew other weapons.

But the French one is also available from Strelets, no review by PSR yet.
What's the point of doing one period, when you can do them all.......... In life most people specialise so gradually they know more and more about less and less so eventually they know everything about nothing. I work on a broad front so eventually I'll know nothing about everything.

You must have read my mine I immediately thought of the French 37mm infantry gun :)

EWM do quite a nice one with its wheeled carriage
