What`s on your workbench?

Post by Richard B. »

well I have a really mixed batch this week (all 20mm):

4 modern girls with guns from Elhiem Figures (2 with head-swaps)

6 Force20 Melhalla (thanks Bill :D ) though I swapped out their awful Hotchkiss for an Airfix Vickers

a scratched together 37mm trench gun plus 2 Moroccan crew (one former Melhalla Hotchkiss gunners and the other a head-swap)

A 2-man French colonial AA gun crew (head-swapped)

A Danish Tempo Jeep (Elhiem Figures) to be painted up as a command car for my Volksgrenadiers plus 2 crew

and finally a Lledo di-cast fire engine, which I`m going to use to tow a 150mm SIG for my Volksgrenadiers, she`s all stowed up and undercoated and will have 3 crew :D

What have you lot planned??

A massive heap, but ignoring the War of Spanish Succession stuff I've assembled a lot of PSC kits while at my daughters last week.

Image
  • The sdkfz 250 neu variants will be mixed in with my alt variants for late war.
  • Gaz trucks will be used for command, radio, ambulance, 75mm gun variants hence no rear sections yet.
  • Steyrs will be be split half early war, half late, and I'm trying to see if I can get some extra Mercedes variants out of the left overs from this and the PSC German trucks.
  • Finally the 250's came with the hollow charge "rocket" for the 37mm so I will attempt to create a couple of late war Pak 36's from my bits box.
What's the point of doing one period, when you can do them all.......... In life most people specialise so gradually they know more and more about less and less so eventually they know everything about nothing. I work on a broad front so eventually I'll know nothing about everything.

Very nice Will, I`ve never been too impressed by PSC kits and I think I`ve got enough stuff to last me a life time in any case.

Not too much at the moment. Painting a few more odd bits for my Romanians after finishing the IHC diecast radio van conversion for them, including a couple of my own resin 37mm Bofors AT guns and a couple more trucks for them (a Raventhorpe Praga RV and a Moonlite 1939 Ford). Debating adding a couple of field guns or howitzers and crews, since my current Romanian field artillery park is almost non-existent. Plenty of suitable guns already in the stash, including my own resin French 75mm Mle.1897 or HaT 76mm Putilov M1902 field guns, and HaT Skoda 100mm M1914 howitzers. They may end up with one or more of each. :D

I look forward to seeing more of your handiwork, Richard. And that is a most impressive line up of vehicles, Will. I like your idea of using the spare 3.7cm Stielgranate 41 stick bombs for late-war 3.7cm Pak.

Nothing for the 20th/21st Century. A few conversions for my Romans and Celts (inc some mythical and supernatural beings). Several fantasy and post apocalypse figures and monsters for the games with the grandchildren (inc zombies, survivors and Stalkers for Zona Alfa).

I seem to be doing far more for the games with the grandchildren than ww2 etc. Very different, challenging and enjoyable.
