Re: Heavily armed Universal carrier

It certainly looks like a 64 which would make it a very heavily armed bath. No one is going to be knocking on the door demanding you hurry up with that much firepower at your disposal!

Cheers Fred.

Re: German hydrofoil tank transporter!

As Sea Lion itself is fantasy I was assuming in that alternate universe the Germans started development of this prewar. So putting it in a Sea Lion game wouldn’t bother me. Hydrofoils seem to have gone out of fashion. The high speed ferries are catamarans now. Never been on a hydrofoil, but did the ...

Re: German hydrofoil tank transporter!

Well a 6t payload precludes a Panzer II which was nearly 9t. Panzer I only, plus light vehicles. LeIG18 and Pak37 plus tows are another possibility, plus supplies of course. It is a great looking boat and as something a bit left field would add a bit of interest to a Sea Lion game, which is also non...

Re: German hydrofoil tank transporter!

Thanks for the additional info. I got it from Trojca’s book German Armour and Special Units of WWII, which mentions Sea Lion as the intended use, but the pictures of it in action are dated 1944. If you get the chance to look at it I would recommend the book. Lots of interesting bits about the improv...

German hydrofoil tank transporter!

Well you learn something new every day. The Germans built a hydrofoil tank transporter to land Shwimmpanzer II’s for Sea Lion. Seems a lot of boat for 1 tank. Called the VS8 Schell I. Speed over 40 knots! https://www.flickr.com/gp/24610929@N03/P1oN77 https://www.flickr.com/gp/24610929@N03/Zsf8r4 Che...

Lovely work. Particularly like the sIG33, one of my favourite guns.

Very nice and good to see some more obscure subjects making it into lead.

Re: new 28mm WW2 Germans from Crusader Miniatures

A welcome addition, but I find Crusader figures poses a bit “samey”. Too many figures advancing with gun held out in front, not many firing poses. This release is a good example, there are 2 different MG34 teams, but both have the advancing, gun in front poses, would have been nice to have a firing ...
