Re: Any other Modern gamers ?

Operation Warboard was the first published ruleset I ever encountered as well, a copy borrowed from our local library, circa 1978-79. Roco Minitanks were a major part of the mix as well, my Roco Cromwells looking quite tiny next to the Matchbox Comets and ESCI Shermans, etc. Although I weeded out mo...

Understood, there is now a statement on the Forum.
Thanks! Sorry for the momentary confusion on my part.

Registered but no acceptance yet.
Same here. Also a bit concerned that none of the original Guild forum admins seem to be involved in this effort.

Re: WIP

Richard, the GS conversions I did back then were basic in the extreme, just a plasticard box plonked onto the truck chassis. No real attempt at detailing, canvas tilts, cargo, etc. I have been slowly working on rehabilitating them as time permits. I finished reworking the last of the Austin K6 GS co...

Less picky - that`s me :D

Re: Any other Modern gamers ?

We once did quite a bit of 6mm Cold War gaming using the old GDW Combined Arms rules, but that died out shortly after the Cold War did. I also ran a 1980's "banana republic" sort of imagi-nations campaign in 20mm that lasted off and on from 1989 until 2004 before finally dying off. Still have the mi...

Re: WIP

Very nice, Richard. I recall converting several Airfix AEC 854 refuellers into GS trucks about 25-30 years ago, when 20mm British GS truck models were much harder to come by, especially here in the US. I think I eventually passed most of them to my brother, who was less picky about the accuracy of h...

Re: Guild goes South?

The announcement from the Guild's FB page, made about 2 hours ago: "After a rather confusing and sad week, "The Guild" admin team are now announcing that it appears that the forum has gone for good. We share the sense of loss that has been circulating online for the last few days, and like you we mo...

Re: Aari Kommandobunker.

I still have the Arii version of the kit in my stash. As with John's, the figures and gun and vehicle kits were stripped out and put to use ages ago, but the rest of it is still in the box. It seemed a good idea when I bought it 25+ years ago, but I've never really found a use for it. https://www.sc...
