Re: Blasts from the distant past

You mean you don't know?! ;) Paul A Allcock. Only wrote a couple of articles/ letters (for early issues - around numbers 5 or 6), and the article I remember most prompted some confused responses... c'est la vie. (Although I discovered years later that someone had used it create a on-line armour pene...

Re: Blasts from the distant past

But people have vehemently objected in the past, and some of them stopped writing for the Journal as a result. We simply don't have the right to digitise earlier Journal content without express permission. Understood: I was just putting it on record that, should digitisation happen, my permission i...

Re: Blasts from the distant past

Re: Sherman tanks from Butlers Printed Models

It would be nice if they told you what scale the pics were of. Most of the ones I've paid attention to (admittedly post-war stuff) state that the photo is of the 15mm version. I've got a few of BPM's 20mm vehicles and I'm well pleased with them. Certainly they could be better detailed (less striati...

Re: Air Combat Rules

If neither of these are to be commended what better set of rules is there? Ah, recommended (or not)... I will admit being a very picky little s*d and a long time aviation geek so my objections are purely my objections. Air War C21 gets some good reviews (although so does CY6!). From memory some of ...

Re: Air Combat Rules

After thinking about it I'm fairly sure that the top speed was about 12 hexes. But my point is that that's the limit for all aircraft. Anything at (I didn't do any calculations) about 600 kt is doing 12 hexes. There's no way, under those rules, that a Mach 2.5 plane could disengage from the fight an...
