Re: Email is dead!?

I actually think you're kind of on the wrong track looking at instant messaging Russell. If what you want to do is publicise new releases to a group of your followers the two main platforms you should be looking at are Twitter and Facebook. You want a platform for pushing information out to an audie...

Re: Email is dead!?

I keep reading that email is dead, and that instant messaging is taking over. Yes and no. Email is still used a lot by businesses, either internally or to communicate with customers, but I think it's days as a social medium are behind it. Just look at your email inbox today; how many of those are a...

Re: Heavily armed Universal carrier

The "64" indicates a Machine Gun Battalion. Normally yes, but in this case the vehicle is from 2nd NZ Div in Italy. Clues include the distinctive Kiwi combined divisional and unit number patch, the Italian houses and the typically 8th army relaxed attitude to uniform. The divisional sign isn't clea...

Re: Static grass applicator

I made my own: http://tinyhordes.com/how-to-make-a-static-grass-applicator/ Previously I'd been using the "baloon and a jumper" method to get the grass to stand up after sprinkling it, this does a much better job. It's a bit surprising if you accidentally touch it though... Thinning the PVA you're u...

Re: German hydrofoil tank transporter!

Yeah, it's hard to imagine what use a fast mover would have been on a short crossing like the English Channel. The round-trip time would most likely be dominated by the loading and unloading times at either end, not the transit time. Operations in the Med, Adriatic or Baltic make more sense. Looks l...

Re: Anyone else having difficulty with Paypal?

Out of interest, what exactly did you order? I've heard recently of arbitrary delays due to buying things with the word "Persian" in them. They get flagged by an automated system for inspection to make sure the goods aren't subject to trade sanctions against Iran. Could be something similar? Black T...

Re: Welcome to the New Forum

Good work getting it up and running, everything seems to have gone smoothly. Are we going to just keep using the default theme, or is there a switch in the pipeline?

Re: Rules that suit 10mm

Battleground is ok, I also like the look of Rommel although I've not managed to get a game in yet. Avoid FoW, and I didn't like BKC either. It's essentially "warmaster with tanks" and I found BKC/CWC played quite generically and lacked the "feel" of they period or the size of battle it was represent...

Re: Rules that suit 10mm

You're going to have to narrow the field a bit there mate, just about anything could be played with 10mm figures. Granted it wouldn't be very practical for platoon-level skirmish stuff where one figure is one man, but I know nutters who play those games in 6mm. I'd say 10mm would be suitable for any...
