Re: Sharing the joy...
Wing Leader: Using the side aspect also means you get some very nice profiles as images on the aircraft counters, which are rectangular, rather than square. The scenarios (and so the aircraft mix) cover China-Burma-India, South Pacific, Mongolia-Manchuria,France 1940 (Fall Gelb, Fall Rot), Battle of...

Sharing the joy...
… of recent GMT boardgame releases aimed at air gamers. First up is Lee Brimmicombe-Wood’s Wing Leader: http://www.airbattle.co.uk/ The site above introduces the concept – as the name implies this is not a flight-sim game. Re: Barbarossa.net
I'd thought about asking my local library to consider adding it to their acquisition list but... as they'e currently facing the possibility of replacing their staff with a keypad to control access and cctv to remotely monitor activity and offer assistance I'm not sure they're looking to acquire much...

Barbarossa.net
Found while looking for a quick headcount on the Slovak Fast Division, a series of books on the structure of forces involved in the Barbarossa campaign - both as planned and as (insofar as is available) actually in use, appears to cover land and air, regular armed forces (Heer, RKKA) and irregular a...

Re: Up armoured Shermans (heat rounds)
Something picked up from youtube.... so large pinch of salt.. but... WW2 HEAT rounds relied on conventional fusing to detonate on contact. This was a problem as the speed at which the round deformed on contact meant that by the time the fuse had triggered the shaped charge warhead the shaped element...

Hexagonal bases
Spotted in the Works: laser cut hex bases - a bag of 110 for 2 quid. 40 small, 35 medium and 35 large. Small fit my Ambush! map hexes (1/2 inch?), medium fit my Cry Havoc! map hexes (1 inch?) Large look to be about an inch and a half. They look to be ply not mdf. I know they're not pennies but they ...

The Trump Doctrine?
《Sarcasm》Is there a thread emerging in Trump's view of how American power should be projected? He recently cited the flying time from Guam to South Korea as aground for suspending mutual training exercises with the RoK... And is picking economic fights with his continental neighbours... Its as if th...
