Re: Tcherbevan Airfield in Andrevia

EXCELLENT Will! Great use of the basic mdf and really well used that corrogated cardboard. I think the control tower and hangar are great pieces of work..... is that RAF blue that the officials of Andrevia have flogged to the airbase at Tcherbevan?? To get round the aircraft wings and the door hanga...

Re: progress on Italian houses & ruins from S&S models

I wasnt happy with some of the gaps between ridge tiles and pantile roof so I filled them in with good old filler (just like you would put mortar on the real thing!) Before repainting!

Re: progress on Italian houses & ruins from S&S models

Yeah! Only took me two (?!) years! But worth waiting for. And I still glued one piece on the wrong way round, but given how hard it is using pva on such small contact points I wasnt about to pull it apart and restick it! There is lots of detail and even after several dry brishings with lighter coat ...

not 1 but 2 new Acars for early 20th century gamers

Well Butlers Printed Models keep producing their lovely printed models and for most part I have not commented of late, but these two are beauties! (IMHO) First up a now well covered Austin Putilov armoured car (or the Russian Austins see https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww1/russia/Austin_Putilov.php )...

Re: progress on Italian houses & ruins from S&S models

The rooftops take shape! Hopefully this gives a clear idea of how the two S&S models resin half rooftops are "joined" by separate ridge tiles, which are made from metal castings about an inch (2.5cm if you like) long and with a T shape. The top of the T being the ridge tiles; and the T tail 'falls' ...

progress on Italian houses & ruins from S&S models

Well not yet finished (ie rooftops to do and some basing work to do) but enough progress to make it worth while (I hope) to post some new (and better, I hope!) photos, with help of my new small digital compact camera. First up the two storey house with walls done, and a simple first floor added (fro...

Nikfest, Dunster 2008? Just finished 15mm buildings!

Well my memory, as Grant will testify, isnt what it used to be! Back in 2008, (I think! Might have been Nikfest2012?) I took a 42mm skirmish WW2 Eastern Front game to Nikfest weekend at Dunster near Minehead. While there I won a raffle prize of some resin 15mm Russian buildings. They later got washe...
