Re: Militia Miniatures - The Bad Guys! Kickstarter live now!

Hi Leon, I backed this KS and picked up some of the "Republican Guard", robots and a humvee. Thought you might like to see them painted. I've painted the guardsmen up not as infantry, but as paramilitary police: https://tinyhordes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Police-paramilitary-768x576.jpg They'r...

Re: air support

I think it definitely can add something to a scenario. For example: a Cold War Gone Hot delaying action. Having fast air screaming in to lay minefields for your outnumbered defenders, or conduct emergency airstrikes to drop bridges before the Soviet armour get across them? Airborne OPs? Desant/Air C...

Re: A difficult Question - Hedges

15% seems rather high. That would mean you'd expect a company of tanks to be combat ineffective after crossing half a dozen hedges. Tanks are designed specifically to eat hedges and ditches for breakfast. I think they should reduce the rate of movement and allow a defender an opportunistic shot at t...

Re: Ultra modern

About the only Ultra-modern I do is using Osprey's excellent little Black Ops ruleset for small-scale irregular skirmish stuff (lots of spooks and Spec Ops). They do include some rules for EW, and you can hack computers and such. There's scope for deployment by helicopters (and HALO) and the presenc...

Re: air support

To what extent is Air support/anti air used on the table. Do gamers generally treat both like they are off table or do they represent both with kit on the table. Also if kit is used does the figure scale match. I have been using my 1/144th scale aircraft in 20 mm games ,for all the time aircraft ar...

Re: early 20th C Islamic 20mm gunners?

C20th might be a stretch, unless you've still got some muzzle-loaded guns being fielded only about half of those will be any use to you.

Re: more 28mm Moderns at Irregular Miniatures

Argh, my eyes!

Seriously though, at least he's making an effort to upgrade the site to have a shopping cart and take payments online, but there's a lot of work to do there. Having such a big catalogue is going to make updating that site a mammoth task.

I thought 57mm too, but it didn`t match any I could find.............
Me neither, hence the question.

I suspect "flight of fancy" from the sculptor is the answer. Not a biggy.

Re: African Militia

It's so small I was assuming that if it's anything it would be something like a 57mm. I suspect though that it's just the sculptor making something up, or using a dodgy source photo. The RPG-7 is a bit "stylised", too.

Whats the problem with your current system? Just that it takes too long to set up?
